Stag Stop, deer repellent services
A technician applying repellent to shrubs with a backpack sprayer, the core of every Stag Stop visit

The Full Process

How Stag Stop Works

From your first call to a full season of protection. Here is exactly what happens, what we apply, and what to expect along the way.

How Stag Stop Works

Simple. Effective. Reliable.

  1. We Spray

Our trained technicians apply our professional egg-based deer repellent to the flowers, shrubs, gardens, ornamental plants, and landscaping areas deer are most likely to browse.

  2. Deer Avoid

Deer have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell. Our egg-based formula creates a scent and taste they find unpleasant, encouraging them to move along and find somewhere else to feed.

  3. Your Landscape Stays Protected

With regularly scheduled applications, Stag Stop helps provide ongoing protection throughout the deer-feeding season, reducing browsing damage and helping keep your landscaping beautiful.

Protect Your Plants. Discourage The Deer. Enjoy Your Landscape.

From First Call To First Spray

What Working With Us Looks Like

No pressure, no guesswork. Here is every step between reaching out and having a protected property.

  1. Request A Free Estimate

Call us or fill out the form on our site. Tell us what the deer are getting into and roughly how much landscaping needs protection.

  2. On-Site Evaluation

A technician walks the property with you, looks at what deer have been browsing, and talks through what a treatment plan would cover.

  3. Service Agreement & Schedule

We put the plan in writing and set a schedule that fits your property and the season, whether that is one-time, monthly, or seasonal.

  4. First Application

Our technician applies the repellent to the plants deer target most. Most properties are done in a single visit.

  5. Scheduled Follow-Ups

We return through the browsing season on the schedule we agreed on, so protection does not lapse as plants grow and weather changes.

Why It Works

The Science, In Plain Language

Deer have an extremely sensitive sense of smell, far sharper than a human's. It is one of the main ways they decide what is safe to eat and what is not.

The natural proteins in our egg-based formula create an odor and taste deer find highly undesirable. Once a plant has been treated, it stops reading as food. Instead of eating through it, deer are encouraged to move on and browse somewhere else.

That is the whole idea. We are not trying to trap or harm deer. We are making your landscaping a place they would rather avoid.

Staying Ahead Of It

Timing & Reapplication

Repellent protection fades as plants grow and weather washes it away, so the schedule matters as much as the spray.

  • Reapplied every four to six weeks through the browsing season
  • Sooner after heavy rain
  • Sooner after a flush of new growth
  • New plantings get covered, once you tell us they are there

A Short List

What We Need From You

  • Reasonable access to the property on service days
  • Let us know about new landscaping so we can cover it
  • Keep people and pets off treated areas until dry, usually two to three hours, or as directed on the label

Set Right, From The Start

Honest Expectations

We would rather tell you this up front than have you find out later.

Stag Stop is a deterrent service, not eradication. We are not able to promise a property with zero deer, and anyone who does is not being straight with you.

Results depend on deer pressure in your area, the weather, and how fast your plants are growing. A consistent schedule gives the repellent the best chance to keep working the way it is designed to.
