About The Treatment
What We Apply And Why
What is actually in the repellent?
Stag Stop's repellent is all-natural and egg-based. We keep the exact formulation in house, but it is built to smell and taste unpleasant to deer while staying safe for your landscape when used as directed.
Does it smell?
There is a light odor right after application that fades as the product dries. Deer keep noticing it long after people stop, which is exactly the point.
Will it stain my siding or hardscape?
The repellent goes on foliage, not siding, walkways, or hardscape. Technicians work carefully around structures and hard surfaces to keep overspray to a minimum.
Is it safe around pets and kids, and when can they go back outside?
Yes, when used as directed. Keep people and pets off treated areas until the product has dried, which usually takes a couple of hours depending on weather.
Does rain wash it off?
A hard rain can shorten how long a treatment lasts. That is why we build rain and new growth into your schedule and come back sooner when conditions call for it.
Does it hurt the plants?
No. The repellent is designed to protect the plants you want to keep, not damage them. It goes on the foliage deer browse, not into the plant itself.
Scheduling And Service
How A Plan Actually Runs
How often do you come out?
Most properties are treated every four to six weeks through the browsing season, sooner after heavy rain or a flush of new growth.
What are the schedule options?
We offer one-time treatments, monthly service, and a full seasonal plan. Seasonal is what we recommend for most properties, since it keeps protection consistent through the months deer feed the most.
What happens during a visit?
A technician walks the property, applies repellent to the plants deer browse most, and notes anything new since the last visit, like fresh plantings or new browse damage.
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can access the areas that need treatment, you do not need to be present for a scheduled visit.
What if I add new plants partway through the season?
Tell us and we will add the new plantings to your next visit, adjusting the schedule if those areas need more frequent attention.
How do I cancel or reschedule a visit?
Call us at 513-518-0262 or send a message through our contact page, and we will adjust your schedule.
Results And Expectations
What To Expect, Honestly
How fast does it work?
Deer typically begin avoiding treated plants soon after application, once the scent and taste take hold as the product dries.
Will it stop deer completely?
No, and we will not tell you otherwise. Stag Stop is a deterrent service, not eradication. We make your landscaping unappealing so deer are encouraged to feed somewhere else, but results depend on deer pressure, weather, and how fast your plants grow back.
What if deer still browse after treatment?
Let us know right away. We will look at what happened, adjust the schedule, and treat any areas that were missed or have grown since the last visit.
Does it work on rabbits too?
We offer a separate rabbit repellent service for beds, vegetable gardens, and new plantings at ground level. Ask about adding it to your plan.
What does the treatment not do?
It does not fence, trap, remove, or relocate deer, and it does not promise a property with zero deer activity. It reduces browsing by making treated plants unappealing, and it works best alongside realistic expectations for your property's deer pressure.
